Q: I was wondering about Ivan Rodriguez's status as a possible top 100 player, and then I got to wondering about catchers in general. Could you give me maybe a top 5 all time list?

A: Ivan is a solid candidate, but he really doesn't merit consideration outside of his status as a catcher. We'll see how well he finishes out. He has 250 HRs, and 1000 RBIs and Runs. Career Avg over .300. Only 32 which I find shocking. He's pretty much a shoe-in as a catcher barring disaster. If he gets  past the 330-340 HR point, he's in.
