Scott's Comments on the Upcoming Season

There will be a rebalancing of power in the AL Central, but not in the way that most suspect. Cleveland and the White Sox will come down a bit, and a hungry Detroit team with a balance of youth and veterans similar to the '05 White Sox will nab 2nd place and a suprise wild-card berth. In my fantasy, they beat out the Blue Jays and Angels in one-game playoffs. AL MVP Vlad Guererro goes 0-5, 3K, 1 GIDP in his game.

I chose the Phillies to win the NL East in '04 and '05. Now that I have them finishing 3rd, expect them to run away with it.

Despite a big season from Berkman, the Astros will fall considerably. And even with Sheets out for a while, the Brewers will continue to improve, and the Pirates should scrap together quite nicely.

Though a less impressive team than its recent incarnations, I see no reason why the Cards can't have playoff success this year.

Keith's Take

Free Agent acquisitions Kenny Rogers and Todd Jones are going to be a combined 80 years old by April. Only one player on the team drew more than 40 walks last year. But the most funny part about Scott's 88-win playoff prediction for the Tigers is the fact thet they lost Jason Johnson, a guy Scott nearly proposed to in 2004, this offseason.
